Though I'm usually not a fan of Dawn, I recently read Inscrutable by Jen over at All About Spike and now I'm looking for some other good stories of Dawn's memories from pre-season 5. Er... just so long as she's not too annoying.

I was going to suggest Fire and Stuff too, as the only thing I can think of that's definately pre-season 5. There's a community for rewrites that include Dawn called insert_Dawn_Here or something like that. But there hasn't been much in a while.

The Spike & Dawn friendship and the season 5 scenes between them are my absolute favorite things in the show. And season 5 Dawn was a very quick, clever, brave, and devious girl. Why the writers couldn't come up with anything for her to do but whine after that is a mystery to me. Dozens of fanfic writers have done it.
