Time-Travel Fics?
September 26th, 2009 09:40 amI'm looking for Spuffy time-travel fics where either of these two scenarios happen:
A) Buffy goes back in time to Victorian England and meets William before he was turned. (excellent examples of this would be Only Time Will Tell by
dampersnspoons and Forward to Time Past by Unbridled Brunette).
B) Buffy or Spike go back to Season 2, 3, or 4, fix the issues between them before they really start, and a happier, Spuffier outcome is the result. (fantastic examples of this would be Her Way, Something Redux, and His Way all by dreamweaver).
If you know of any fics that fall under these categories besides the ones I've listed, I would very much like to know about them. If you haven't read the ones I've stated here, I highly recommend each and every one and they can all be found at The Spuffy Realm. ^_~

Approx. 52,850 words
Finished, R, post-Chosen. Buffy's mission: to travel back in time into a post-Lie To Me timeline to retrieve a mysterious artefact. She takes a memory-viping potion to eraze the memories of the person she selects to help her. She only has one dose so she has to select the most trustworthy person. She plans to turn to Giles, but circumstances force her to confide in Spike - unsouled, unchipped and thoroughly evil. The Spike who hates her. And, as they work together and he starts to appreciate her, she remembers that she will have to eraze his memories of everything that happens between them...
"The Butterfly Effect" is a rare gem that skillfully combines breathtaking adventure story and powerful hero journeys of both Buffy and Spike. The style is lean, graphic during action and interaction episodes, poignantly introspective during intimate scenes. Also, the story is ingeniously written into TV!canon (although it's not comics-compliant).

http://www.geocities.com/ariane_five/DreamAgain.html
Post-AU-Lovers Walk, NC-17. 30,000+ words. Set-up: Spike returns to Sunnydale two months earlier. He goes to Joyce to complain about his bloody life and she lets drunk Spike to sleep in Buffy's room, because she still thinks he's her bandmate. Pissed off, Buffy goes to Bronze, meets Halfreck and impulsively wishes that Spike wasn’t a vampire so that she could call the cops and get him arrested. When she returns home, she discovers human William who quickly falls in love with her. Giles sends him back in time but time paradox happens nevertheless. Back in XIX century William can't forget Buffy so he finds Angelus to sire him because it's the only way to cross the ocean of time and meet Buffy again. When he meets her in a new, "reloaded" universe, everything goes differently - and yet so many things are the same...
It's one of the most masterfully constructed plots I ever read. Using tried-and-true technique of "take two", Ariane reworks practically all the crucial plot points of later seasons, including Buffy's voyage to heaven after her death, adapting them to the new reality yet keeping everything very close to canon. Characters are sharply drawn and recognizable, pace is quick (Ariane avoids long descriptions that readers usually skip, and that's a big bonus), and among all the angsty twists and turns there is a lot of humor.

Hope they help. And just a reminder that Ariane's fic is on geocities and will be lost after October unless you save it.
